The Stationary Engine Powerhouse of the Midwest Old Settlers and Threshers Reunion. The Powerhouse found in Museum A on the Midwest Old Settlers and Threshers grounds is a working museum which museum which has been developed with the purpose of demonstrating the vital role steam engines have played in America’s workplace. Some of the steam engines in the Powerhouse were used in mine hoists, locker plants, blacksmith and machine shops, distilleries, hospitals, laundries, and many other settings. The exhibit also offers three working examples of diesel powered engines and the Wilkie Machine Tool Exhibit, which is powered by a line shaft operated from a Peerless steam engines
